USBands Event Hosts

USBands Event Packages include all the critical elements to ensure the best possible experience for your participants

Adjudicators

Assigned from our pool of the best adjudicators in the country, our judges go through a rigorous screening and training process. All adjudicator flights, travel expenses, and compensation are handled by USBands.

Event Staff

We provide both a Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator to execute your event on the field. These experienced USBands representatives are trained to facilitate the flow and organization of the contest while serving as your on-site support team. We also provide a trained tabulator to organize and calculate the scores of your event, along with a computerized scoring system to ensure results are presented in person and online accurately and professionally.

Digital Commentary and Sheets

USBands provides digital recordings of all adjudicator commentary, along with personalized scoring sheets from each judge for each participating band. USBands sheets are based on a national scale, thus providing continuity between events from week to week, making it easier for bands to compare results with other bands in their community and across the country.

Recruiting and Marketing Support

USBands maintains relationships with bands all across the country through mailings, e-mails, and phone calls. USBands website is updated several times each day with over 80,000 hits registered per day at the peak of band season. Your event will be featured in all relevant advertising and correspondence with our participating bands on their journey to our premier events.

Customer Service

Our offices are open during the band season from 7am-7pm, and your USBands representatives are available to you for support via email and mobile seven days a week.

Support and Advice

USBands will provide materials and information to help effectively manage and organize your event, as well as guidance to make your event as profitable as possible. We host several conference calls and Q&A sessions for

Seasons

USBands is continually accepting date requests for fall and winter events! Interested schools may choose what type of event they wish to host.

Local Events

There are three types of local events.

1Clinic & Preview
Early in the season, schools may choose to host a Clinic & Preview Event. USBands will provide four adjudicators and two additional clinicians who will work directly with each band after they perform to provide immediate educational feedback.

2Silver
At a Silver Event, USBands will provide four adjudicators in the captions of Music Individual, Visual Performance, General Effect and Ensemble Analysis. USBands will also provide a minimum of three event staff members to assist with event operations on the day of the event.

3Gold
At a Gold Event, USBands will provide six adjudicators in the captions of Music Individual, Visual Performance, General Effect, Ensemble Analysis, Color Guard and Percussion. USBands will also provide a minimum of three event staff members to assist with event operations on the day of the event.

Regional Events

In some areas, such as Texas, USBands Regional Events are held at large high school and college facilities. These events are typically larger than a local show and need adequate space and support to be successful. If you are in an area where USBands is not currently active and would like to host a Regional Event, please contact Eric James at ejames@yea.org or 610-821-0345 x129.

USBands is continually accepting date requests for winter color guard and percussion events. Our winter indoor circuit is currently located in the Northeast with events in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

During the winter season, all prospective event hosts must be able to accommodate both color guard and percussion ensembles. Event hosts are free to choose which discipline performs first. Participating units may come from either the independent or scholastic discipline.

The first event in a given region will be a clinic and preview show. Clinics for the indoor season give participating groups and their instructors the chance to learn from world-class designers and performers in their field.

Resources

The Event Host Guide is an excellent resource for those who may be interested in hosting a USBands-sanctioned event. It covers the various requirements, guidelines and best practices. This can give prospective hosts an idea of what to expect and how to host a successful event. Current hosts are expected to abide by the Event Host Guide, as stated in their contracts.

For more information regarding hosting a USBands event in your area, and available dates, please contact Eric James at ejames@yea.org or 610-821-0345 ext.129.
